An October and Thanksgiving wedding, Kayla and Chris’ wedding was the last wedding we shot in 2016. October weddings in Atlantic Canada are always a bit of a gamble in terms of weather and especially so when you are right next to the shore! Despite the call for heavy rains until the 11th hour before their outdoor ceremony, the weather turned out to be fantastic – in fact, the tumult of whatever was happening in the heavenly skies gave us an incredible and dramatic skyline! When it comes to the weather, we are at the mercy of what is given to us. And we are thankful for what we were given on October 9th, 2016! If you are wondering if it did downpour… yes, it did and did it ever… minutes after we were in the warmth of the beautifully decorated ballroom.
Not only was Kayla and Chris’ wedding memorable because of the beautiful ceremony and cooperative weather, but also because of a long-time connection between Kayla’s parents and Jordan’s family! It’s so neat how life happens – here are Dave and Tina who could recount very specific memories of Jordan when he was 7 years old, and then here we were photographing their daughter’s wedding! I had a jolly good time listening to all the incriminating stories of Jordan.
Kayla and Chris, thank you for having us be part of your memorable and joyous wedding day! We had so much fun at your wedding that we felt like guests enjoying the celebration. Thank you for trusting us to capture the essence and details of your life event – what a great privilege and honor. We know that you will look back fondly at these moments 40 years from now!
